Families are not now and have never been Ward and June. It wasn't unusual for a younger sister in the 1800s to marry her older sister's widower to help with the children. It's happened in our family, and if you check your family tree, it probably happened in yours also. Flash forward to 2017, we wondered why a cousin of ours was still using her second husband's name after marrying her fourth husband. It turns out that her new husband is her former brother-in-law. At least they live far enough away from us that we don't have to worry about it.
