Paul Raymond Clemmons calls himself "Hoss," but we're sure there are more appropriate names for this Walmart maintenance man if the charges against him are true. The 50 year-old Killen man attended Brooks High School and has spent the majority of his life in the Shoals, currently living on Highway 71 in Lauderdale County.
On Monday, a Lauderdale grand jury indicted Clemmons on one charge of First Degree Sexual Abuse of a child under the age of 12 and one count of Sexual Torture. The latter involves penetration with a foreign object while the former would involve digital penetration. The alleged incidents happened in 2019.
Here's hoping the divorced Clemmons likes the Lauderdale County Detention Center, since his bond is $55,500.00. If the charges are true, let's also hope that a Lauderdale jury is more discerning than what can be found in Franklin.
We're failing so many children; let's hope any sentencing reform will bring sterner punishment for these deviants, rather than more lenient.
