Don't look for a Rite-Aid in Alabama, Michigan, or Ohio. They all closed when the pharmacy chain declared bankruptcy in late 2023. The mega drug chain did manage to escape its financial difficulties, but is now taking the bankruptcy route once again.
Only around 1,200 stores remain from the once huge roster of 5,000 plus. The planned comeback has now bitten the dust, and Rite Aid is looking for a buyer. Will it find one?
Considering the recent closings of several local Walgreens and others, we doubt it. Perhaps there's a vacant Rite Aid building in Northwest Alabama still available. You might want to consider a title loan store.
