Last July, Muscle Shoals head baseball coach Blake Beck parted ways with the Colbert County school. The exact circumstances were never made public, but Belaki seems to have landed on his feet. He's now an assistant coach at Eastern Kentucky University.
The interesting thing about this job is the university's press release at the time of his hire. This is his stated experience at Muscle Shoals High School:
Beck led the Muscle Shoals High School program for the past two seasons (2023 and 2024). He managed all aspects of the program including fundraising, community service, field maintenance, scheduling, and strength and conditioning.
Wow! We never knew.
Community service? Was that slugging at females who attended the games? Or perhaps teaching his team some colorful new language?
Field maintenance? Was that cursing at Muscle Shoals employees who actually kept the city fields in pristine condition?
Just think, Eastern Kentucky is in the ASUN conference, meaning they will play UNA at various times during the baseball season. That ensures the Shoals will again have the pleasure of Belaki's presence.
